Job Description

Job Description:Patient Care To receive the patient in the ward. To explain the patient about the admission guidelines. To visit every patient, enquire about his or her needs before 12-noon everyday. To co-ordinate with other departments in attending to the patient' s need. To keep the ambience neat and tidy. To inform the concerned doctors regarding new admission. To carry out doctors instructions. To raise requisition in the computer for different investigations needed for the patient. To raise requisition slips for various investigations in Radiology, Pathology, Blood bank and arrange for dispatch of the same to the concerned departments. To collect the investigation reports. To raise diet slips as per doctor' s instructions and inform the Dietary department. To arrange for transport to send the patient for different investigations. To maintain required stock of stationary items and patient case sheet papers. To help the patient' s attenders and visitors. To send the updated billing cards to the billing department one day in advance of the proposed discharge of the patient. To explain the discharge procedure to the patients and follow up with the doctor' s for discharge summary. To check the discharge intimation slip to ensure that hospital bills are settled and then handover the discharge summary and the reports to the patient. To co-ordinate with EMS department and security if the patient needs ambulance for transportation. To collect the feedback information from the patient and forward it to Guest Relations department. Attending phone calls. Maintaining the case files of the patient neatly with all the necessary case papers, investigation reports and billing card etc. To update the day' s work in the secretary' s log book. To collect / dispatch blue folder from the medical records. To keep ADMS' s office, HR Office, and Guest Relation' s dept informed of VIP/ reference patients. To inform housekeeping dept, Dietary, Admission counter of the discharge of the patient. To make sure that double occupancy is allowed only after Admission counter gives the clearance and the patient' s attendant' s signature to be taken on the double occupancy form after informing him/ her of the tariff. To update all registers in the ward. To obtain billing clearance before the patient goes for surgery. To enter date/ time, patient' s name, age, sex and other particulars in Accession Register. To co-ordinate with Admission counter for admission of the patients. To be responsible of the transfer of patients to the wards and to other group hospitals in the city. To raise requisition in the computer / slips of different investigations of the patient to the concerned departments. In case of requisition slips make sure that they are dispatched at the earliest. In Medico-legal case procedures, to indicate MLC with a seal in the related documents/ medical records. ICU To update CTVS-ICU Register. To prepare Bed status on the notice board. To co-ordinate with Admission counter and Wards for shifting the Patients. To ensure that the computer folder is duly filled and updated by the concerned doctors. To check for double occupancy. In case of sick patients and in case of Death, To coordinate with waiting hall staff for regulating attender' s visits. To help the relatives / attenders. To speed up the billing procedure. To pass the death information to the concerned departments. ICCU To check previous night' s (if any) death intimation / discharge against medical advice. If there is any, check if the billing is settled. To prepare bed status reports and copy to be forwarded to conference hall. Update the billing card with reference to equipment' s used for the patient. To check for double occupancy. In case of sick patients and in case of death, to co-ordinate with conference hall staff for regulating attender' s visit. To help the relatives / attenders. To speed up the billing procedure. To pass the death information to the concerned departments.
