Job Description:Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. He will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. 1. Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies 2. Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms 3. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking 4. Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management 5. A knack for negotiation and networking 6. Working experience of vendor management software 7. Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures 8. Solid judgement along with decision making skills 9. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. 10. Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales. 11. Should be able to do documentation in regards to direct import of materials / equipments. 12. Administer on-line purchasing systems. 13. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. 14. Control purchasing department budgets. 15. Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability. 16. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials. 17. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. 18. Represent college in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. 19. Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs. 20. Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness 21. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyersupplier power 22. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries 23. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand 24. Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer 25. Interest in market dynamics along with business sense 26. Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
